The Narrow Way

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. – Matthew 7:13-14 KJV

Narrow is the way…few there be that find it. These words of Jesus reverberate through time and space with a hammer blow. Of all the things that I’ve accomplished in life, or that another can accomplish, there can be none more significantly impactful than finding the strait gate and walking down the narrow way which leads to life. I could not have imaged the life that God has given me thus far, and though I am far from deserving, I joy in it.

The process of “finding” implies first that one is seeking. The incredible thing about the new covenant of Jesus Christ is that he is the one that deals with us, creates a desire, and draws to him. Luk 19:10 That means that while we seek something in life until he reveals his influence to us at the right time and place, we are blind to exactly what we are trying to find. As the old song says, “I searched for him, but knew not what I sought for…But when I found Jesus, I knew that I would search no more “.

It is a beautiful thing to look back over a life and see the tapestry of God’s drawing of us to the point of repentance, baptism, and the incredible experience of being filled with his spirit.

Here is the song if you’re unfamiliar. I pray you’ll enjoy the lyrics…even if your taste in music style is different than this link.

I’m thankful he came to me and showed me what I needed most in this life, and I rejoice that my name has been written in the Lamb’s book of life!

To any that seem to never be able to be filled with the things found in this life, I encourage you to get to your nearest Apostolic Pentecostal church. Read Acts 2:38, follow it, and see if you don’t realize like myself and many, many, others have that HE is the missing piece and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

In this blog, I have been encouraged to share my thoughts on scripture, and I’m sure other writings will find their way here as well. I hope to add some small pieces to Apostolic Apologetics, Exegesis and be a blessing somehow along the way.
